Report on the Assessment for the year 1934-35.

A new valuation of the whole Colony has been

made with the result that there is a decrease of

.77% in the new rateable value. Decreases are shown

in Victoria and Hong Kong villages and increases in

Kowloon and New Kowloon. The average number of

vacant tenements during the year were 1,100 monthly,

the largest number ever reported.
